Objective of the Celebration
Eid Ul fitr is an important event for Muslims. It is one of the two religious bairams in Islam. The celebration of this event is an opportunity for social gathering and joy sharing among Muslims.
Eid ulfitr is celebrated on the first day of Shawal, the tenth month in the Islamic calender. This event celebrates the accomplishment by Muslims of one of the most important Islamic rituals, which is the fast of the month of Ramadan, the ninth month in the Islamic calender. Muslims express their happiness on this day by meeting, visiting each other and giving gifts to children.The celebration took place in the Tsukuba Masjid on December 6th, 2002. The ceremony began early in the morning, where Muslims from all Ibaraki prefecture gathered in the Masjid waiting for the prayer of Eid and making extolement and glorification of Allah according to the tradition of the Prophet Salla Allah Aleyhi Wa Sallam. After the prayer of Eid, a sermon was given, in which the Imam gave general advice to all the audience and urged them to hold to their religion. After the end of the sermon, a special party was organized, where Muslims had the opportunity to congratulate each other, and where children could play and enjoy the gifts distributed among them.
